At the Odessa Regional Medical Center No. 10, doctors managed to do the almost impossible — save the life of a 23-year-old police officer from Poltava who suffered burns to 85% of his body as a result of an enemy missile strike. His condition was critical, but modern medical technologies and the dedication of the doctors gave the young man a chance at life.
A crucial role in his treatment was played by the specialized PEARLS™ bed, which the hospital received with the support of the Unilex and Victor Charity Foundations, as well as thanks to the assistance of the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration and the Department of Health of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
What makes this equipment unique? The PEARLS™ bed creates a high-tech treatment environment that:
- reduces the risk of infections,
- promotes wound healing,
- prevents the formation of bedsores,
- maintains stable thermoregulation,
- improves blood circulation.
These characteristics are especially important for the care of patients with severe burns, as they give them a better chance of recovery.
The fight for our hero's life lasted several months, and today he is already undergoing rehabilitation in Odessa.
